Abstract / Introduction
Managing housing societies manually often leads to inefficiencies, delays, and lack of transparency in communication between residents, management committees, and service providers. Tasks such as resident registration, complaint handling, facility booking, and announcement management become time-consuming without a centralized system.
The proposed Online Housing Society Management aims to digitize and streamline the day-to-day operations of housing societies. It will allow administrator to manage residents’ records, facilities, and complaints in a structured way. Residents will be able to register, lodge complaints, and receive announcements or notifications. Service providers will also be able to coordinate with the society through this system.
The system will cater to different types of users including administrator, residents, and service providers, providing them with the necessary tools to handle housing society operations effectively and transparently.
The users of this application are given below.
Administrator: Responsible for managing residents’ registrations, publishing announcements, and monitoring complaints.
Residents: Individuals living in the society who can register, book society facilities (like community hall or sports ground), submit complaints, and view announcements.
Service Providers: External vendors such as electricians, plumbers, or cleaners who can receive
and respond to service requests from residents.
Functional Requirements:
Administrator
Manage Residents’ registrations and profiles.
Manage Service Providers’ registrations and profiles.
Publish announcements and important notices.
Manage facilities (e.g., hall, ground) booking.
View and resolve complaints lodged by residents.
Residents
Register and create his/her profile.
Book facilities (e.g., hall, ground) based on availability.
Lodge complaints regarding services or society issues and track their status.
View announcements and notifications.
Service Providers
Register and create a profile as a service provider.
Receive service/maintenance requests from residents or admin.
Update status of completed tasks.

These are basic requirements of the application. Students may add further functionalities to make the application more useful.
Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) will not provide any kind of hardware for this project; student has to arrange the required hardware by himself/herself.
VU will not pay for any license of the software, the libraries /toolkits/APIs used in this project.
Tools:
Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server, ASP.net.
Note: You can switch languages or tools. However, if you do so, you will handle the technical side yourself.
